To be officially part of SFYN you should be aged between 18 and 32. Nevertheless we always have exceptions for younger people that feel older or older people that keep being young inside… This also depends on the concept of “youth” in the social context where you live.

Slow Food is our mother organization, while SFYN is the network of youth aged between 18 and 32 within the movement of Slow Food. So SFYN is a network within the network and it exists to make sure youth are fairly represented within the movement.

To join as a single person or as a community it is not compulsory to pay, but a donation is more than welcome. As an individual you can support us by becoming one of our patreons , while if you create a community, you can choose to give a donation at the moment of registration. 

Of course you can! We believe that by creating a community the impact can be bigger and also more fun, but we indeed appreciate having single members that support the movement.

You can also follow us on our social media in order to get involved in international projects and you can also share with us ideas and things you would like to do with SFYN. In your daily life, it is important to follow a Slow lifestyle and make sure you are an example of positive behaviour for the people that surround you. How? In order to start a SFYN community, you should first of all gather a group of (10) friends that share your interest in working for a better food system in your city or region. Once you gather the group, decide together what are the main challenges you want to tackle together and what are the activities you want to carry out in order to achieve your objectives. You can then get in touch with us and share your plans: we will guide you through the whole process of developing your own community.

It’s great that you want to be part of the Slow Food Youth Network. If you want to be involved, you should have an age between 18 and 32. You can be involved both on a local level (for example by creating or joining a local Slow Food community) and on an international level (by participating in international projects and events).
